No prior knowledge in Japanese language is required to enrol for this level

The JLPT N5 is the first level of the Japanese Language Proficiency Exam (JLPT). In this level students will be introduced to the scripts of Japanese (Hiragana, katakana and Kanji), communication in basic Japanese and introduction to Japanese culture and etiquette.

Prerequisite: Japanese N5 level of proficiency

In this level the student will continue to enhance and develop the skills of reading, writing and listening through practice of grammar, Pronunciation and plenty of assignments. The students will be able to understand and read common expressions, daily life conversations and sentences written in kanji of N4 level.

Prerequisite: Japanese N4 level of proficiency

This course will continue to practice conversation, writing and various forms of transcribing. The objective is to gain better level of command over language, grammar, Kanji scripts and speaking broader range of topics related to the JLPT N3 level. With greater confidence and precision, the students will be able to grasp contents spoken in daily life conversations, slightly complex sentences, newspaper headlines and understand intermediate level business communication in Japanese.

Prerequisite: Japanese N3 level of proficiency

Emphasis will be on advancing participants’ skills and knowledge of the Japanese through more vocabulary, grammatical structure and topics. Listening, reading, speaking and advanced Kanji writing skills will be addressed throughout the course related to the JLPT N2 level. On completion of the training, students will be able to communicate more fluently and confidently using more complex grammatical structures, vocabulary and learn the required kanji for N2 level.

Prerequisite: Japanese N2 level of proficiency

This course focuses on mastering in vocabulary, grammar and reading related to the JLPT N1 level. The course will continue to explore new sentence patterns and structures through more complex dialogues and readings. More efforts will be on conversation and reading and writing skills in Kanji.
